NBA Summer League championship rings, explained: Full details behind 2K24 tournament jewelry
The Rockets or Cavaliers won’t just receive bragging rights for winning the Las Vegas Summer League.
For the second year in a row, the champion of the NBA’s premier Summer League event will receive rings for winning the tournament. Previously, the winning team in Las Vegas received trophies and t-shirts.
ESPN’s Malika Andrews shared a preview of this year’s championship rings at the start of the tournament.
Once again, a Summer League logo is featured at the top of the ring with “2023” above it and “Champions” below it, complete with a number of diamonds. One side reads “NBA2K Summer League” with the NBA logo next to it. The other side reads “Las Vegas 2023” and features an image of the updated Summer League championship trophy.
The trophy itself pays homage to Las Vegas, as the NBA detailed when it introduced the new theme in 2022.
The championship trophy stands 14 inches tall and resembles a rolled up playing card in gold vermeil. The inside showcases a basketball court motif with the achievement inscribed in its center, while the exterior includes an engraved basketball and net pattern designed to replicate a classic playing card.
The Rockets or Cavaliers will become the second team in NBA history to receive championship rings at Summer League, joining the Trail Blazers, who defeated the Knicks in last year’s championship game.
For comparison, here’s what the inaugural rings looked like:
